Amsterdam

April 22-24, 2022

Build the new frontier.

All over the world, hundreds of thousands of developers, users, hobbyists, creators, artists, and market makers spend their days and nights thinking, building, talking about Ethereum because we are... excited. We're excited by the idea that Ethereum can change things. That Ethereum is a fulcrum we can use to change money, finance, the web, ownership, the way software works and the way power is distributed.

We're excited about a new frontier.

As part of Devconnect this April, ETHAmsterdam is (finally) bringing the community back together. Join over 800 likeminded engineers, designers, and creators to build and learn over one full weekend. Meet new friends, create something awesome, eat great food, learn from the best, meet the people behind your favorite Twitter account.

We're back to build, we hope you'll join us.

Build with the entire ecosystem at your back

At ETHAmsterdam, you'll have the support of a huge community of experts, mentors, sponsors, developer advocates, and other community members who want to help you build something awesome.

Be part of a global community of developers aligned around a vision for a better decentralized internet.

We'll introduce you to teammates, connect you with mentors, unblock technical problems, and help you deliver a working product that pushes the web3 ecosystem forward.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is ETHAmsterdam?
ETHAmsterdam is an event bringing together some of the top minds and experts in Ethereum and ETHGlobal's return to in-person hackathons since 2020. We enable teams to make something great in only 36 hours by providing an abundance of hacking resources like mentors, sponsors, and software. Sleeping is optional, but trying to make awesome things is not.
Is ETHAmsterdam the same as Devconnect?
No, the Ethereum Foundation is running Devconnect which is a collaborative Ethereum week, built by and for everyone. We're bringing our world famous hackathon to Amsterdam and looking forward to seeing you at ETHAmsterdam.
I'm new to Ethereum, can I participate?
Absolutely! Our events are open to both beginners and veterans of the web3 world. This event in particular will be tailored to attendees who have experience with Web2 technologies and are interested in building on Web3 for the first time.
How much does it cost to attend?
ETHAmsterdam is 100% free for hackers. All that we ask of you is that you focus on building your project, check-in with us on your progress regularly, and participate in the community we build around this hackathon.
Will ETHAmsterdam offer travel scholarships to hackers?
ETHAmsterdam is free-of-charge thanks to the support of our partners and sponsors but, unfortunately, the event is not able to cover travel or other expenses for attendees.
Is there a code of conduct?
Yes! For years, our core ethos has been to make it easy for anyone to dream big. To that end, we've developed a Code of Conduct.
How many people can be on a team?
You can form teams of up to 5 people. There are no restrictions for team members, so you can team up with hackers of any country or experience level!
Can I start working on my hack before the event?
No. In the interest of fairness, attendees should not be working on their projects before ETHAmsterdam begins and we do not allow participants to work on pre-existing projects. However, you can familiarize yourself with all the tools and technologies you intend to use beforehand!
